Who I am
I'm Gomezgani Skanda Kaunda, a Malawian technology professional based in Blantyre. I hold a Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Computing with First Class Honours from the University of Greenwich, delivered at the National College of Information Technology (NACIT).
My background is in software development, but my interests extend beyond writing code. I enjoy understanding problems, exploring ideas, and turning them into practical digital solutions.
I'm currently pursuing Master of science in Financial Engineering (MScFE), expanding my work across technology, business, finance, and digital transformation. I'm particularly interested in how these disciplines come together to build better products, systems, and ways of solving real-world problems
My work sits across software development, digital products, and technology. I enjoy taking an idea or a problem, understanding what is actually needed, and turning it into something useful.
Working across different areas has made me interested in more than just how systems are built. I also care about why they are built, who they serve, and how technology can create better outcomes.

My background is in technology, but I want to understand the financial problems behind the systems I build. That is why I'm pursuing a Master of Science in Financial Engineering: to develop a deeper understanding of finance and how financial institutions, markets, risk, data, and decision-making work.
I believe understanding both sides makes it possible to build better financial technology. The goal is not simply to build systems that work, but to understand the financial problems they are solving and use technology and data to make those systems more effective and decisions more informed.
How I think
Two principles that guide how I approach problems — in code, in business, and in data.
I like understanding how things work before trying to improve them. Whether I'm working on a software system, exploring a business problem, or studying financial data, I prefer to understand the underlying problem rather than simply implement the obvious solution.
I'm drawn to ideas that can move beyond theory and become something practical, measurable, and useful.
